A Safe and Nurturing Environment for Women’s Addiction Recovery

At The Way-Out Recovery, we provide a compassionate and structured drug and alcohol treatment program grounded in the Twelve Step philosophy. Our abstinence-based approach empowers women with the tools they need to live clean and sober lives. Drug and Alcohol Eligibility

Eligibility

 

To be eligible, women must:

  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Have alcohol and/or drug abuse as a primary diagnosis
  • Be approved by our physician for detoxification
  • Be able to function in a therapeutic group setting
  • Be fluent in English or have access to translation services

Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Orchard Based Living Life Skills

Orchard-Based Living & Life Skills

In addition to our therapeutic offerings, The Way-Out Recovery is located on a beautiful orchard, providing clients with a unique opportunity to engage with nature.

 

Our clients can:

  • Pick their own fruits, including apples, right from the orchard
  • Learn canning techniques to preserve fresh produce
  • Bake and cook with seasonal ingredients, incorporating wellness into daily life
  • Develop practical life skills such as gardening, cooking, and crafting

 

These activities serve as both therapeutic experiences and practical lessons in self-sufficiency, offering women a holistic approach to recovery.

Aftercare & Continued Support

Recovery doesn’t end after treatment. Upon completing the 60-day program, our clients have access to:

 

  • Private Second-Stage Housing: Safe, structured living for up to two years, fostering stability post-treatment.
  • Ongoing Counseling: Continued therapy and support, including trauma-informed care.
  • Life Skills Workshops: From career development to educational support, we help women reintegrate into society with confidence.
  • Employment Opportunities: We offer on-site work placements to help women regain a sense of purpose.

From the moment you step onto our orchard grounds, you’ll experience the warmth, safety, and support needed to begin your healing journey. Whether you’re just starting or need ongoing aftercare, The Way-Out Recovery is here to guide you every step of the way.

Our Facilities

What to bring:

 

  • Alcohol free hygiene products (mouth wash, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant etc..)
  • Feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads)
  • Comfortable and weather appropriate clothing and footwear (slippers, jackets, raincoats, gumboots, umbrella, shorts, flipflops, bathing suits) depending on the season
  • Facecloths, towels
    Preferred bedding (pillows, blankets, sheets, comforters, etc..) we also provide these
  • Preferred pens, markers, binder, journal, lined paper for written work
  • Personal identification (necessary for payment) including proof of extended
    3 weeks of OAT prescription where applicable
  • Alarm
  • Clear water container
  • Loonies for laundry ($1.00 per load)
  • Pictures of family, friends, pets etc..
  • Enough tobacco products for 3 weeks (no loose tobacco or rolling papers
  • Stamps, envelopes, addresses for anyone you want to send mail too
  • Clothes hangers

What not to bring:

 

  • No electronics (television, stereo, electronic games etc..)
  • No provocative/inappropriate clothing
  • No perfume, body sprays, heavily scented lotions (we are a scent free zone)
  • No nail polish, nail polish remover or nail glue
  • No weapons or adults toys
  • No over the counter medications- this includes creams or vitamins unless the vitamins are sealed upon arrival
  • No lottery tickets or gambling products of any kind
  • Vehicles

Reminders:

 

  • We are on a septic system so we must be careful about what goes down the drain, therefore, no products with bleach, fabric softeners, hair dye or bath salts.
  • Clients may not be taking benzodiazepines, opiates, narcotics, muscle relaxants or stimulants while in treatment. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Clients MUST deal with court or trials prior to coming into treatment.
  • Clients are limited to a suitcase and 1 carry-on bag only. Any additional belongings will be sent home on arrival. Belongings will be searched upon arrival and all unsafe products will be removed and put into storage until the client completes the program.
